Arjen Lentz (38) is originally from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Since marrying an Aussie, he decided that Australia is a very nice place to live. He currently resides in Kenmore, a Western suburb of Brisbane, with his baby daughter Phoebe and black cat Figaro.

Arjen initially started with C programming, but has since branched out to other stuff that blends initial geekness with more human interaction. He was employee#25 at MySQL AB (2001-2007), and now owns his own company Open Query (openquery.com.au) which offers its own MySQL training & consulting, as well as open source business and community strategy advice.
